Working hard to keep
our community safe
Our school is now fully open and we are all very happy to have all our children back in school. Due to the current COVID-19 pandemic, we have a number of measures in place, in order to keep children, families, staff and visitors safe.
Our School Day
We have arranged our school day so that dropping off and picking up times, playtimes and lunchtimes are all staggered. The timings are displayed around school. Playtimes and lunchtimes are staggered, so that bubbles can stay safe and independent.
All visitors, including parents and families, are expected to maintain social distancing whilst on the school site, both inside and outside. Two metre markings, both inside and outside, help to remind everyone. We have established a one-way system at dropping off and picking up times and encourage parents and families to wear face coverings, if they have to wait near other parents.
Our classes have been organised into ‘bubbles’. We have four, all of which have their own toilet and handwashing facilities. Each bubble has its own staff team, with first aid-qualified members and lunchtime staff. Bubbles also have a small amount of outside play equipment in their own ‘bubble boxes’.
Our Premises Lead and Cleaners ensure the whole school is thoroughly cleaned each day and each area has a deep clean on a weekly basis. Bubble staff clean through the day, particularly focusing on frequently touched areas. Bubbles all have their own cleaning equipment and supplies.
We have established a hand cleaning timetable, so that children and staff clean their hands regularly, throughout the day, either hand washing or using hand sanitiser. Hand sanitiser is also located at the main entrance, staff rest areas and in our Wraparound Care room.
Visitors to School
Only essential visitors are permitted during the school day, at the current time. They are required to provide their organisation or company’s risk assessment and method statement before their visit. Track and Trace information is kept from all visitors. All visitors to the school office are required to wear face coverings and to enter only one/one family at a time. The office staff are happy to deal with any queries by telephone, Class Dojo or by email.
