Headteacher's Welcome

I am delighted to have this opportunity to tell you about our school, St. Mary’s Catholic Primary. Ours is a warm, loving, Christ-centred community, founded on our school motto of ‘Through God’s Love We Will Achieve’, where we recognise all pupils as unique gifts of God.
At St. Mary’s we have a dedicated, enthusiastic team of teaching and non-teaching staff who continually strive to offer the very best education for all. Our curriculum is rich and exciting, and designed to engage and inspire, encouraging children to develop skills, acquire knowledge and develop a love of learning. All pupils are given many opportunities to learn, both within the classroom, in the school grounds, in the wider locality and beyond.
Our delightful, stimulating environment inspires and strengthens learning experiences, supporting our children to achieve their potential and to grow into independent and responsible young people who are ready for the challenges ahead.
This website offers you a flavour of life at St. Mary’s, but we are happy to arrange a visit for you come along and see our school for yourselves and look forward to welcoming you and your family soon.

Headteacher's Welcome

I am delighted to have this opportunity to tell you about our school, St. Mary’s Catholic Primary. Tucked away behind the Catholic Church of St. Mary and St. Egwin, on Evesham’s High Street, you will discover one of the hidden gems of our town!
As the only primary school in Evesham, St. Mary’s has many unique qualities. We are a small school, of just six classes. Many of our children stay until the age of eleven to complete their Key Stage Two education in one school, with some choosing to move to the town’s Middle Schools at the end of Year Five. We pride ourselves on consistently achieving the highest Key Stage Two scores within Evesham schools.
Another distinctive feature of St. Mary’s is, that as the smallest of the schools in the town, it is often described by many, including Ofsted, as having a truly family feel; “This school has a real sense of family. Pupils’ good behaviour and thoughtfulness reflect the school’s values and ethos.” (Ofsted Feb. 2020) Add to this that as Catholic school, in a multi-faith society, we welcome children of all faiths or none. We represent a variety of cultures, modelling, in all we do, the values of kindness, respect and tolerance.
St. Mary’s delivers an exciting curriculum for all. Children enjoy their learning and have many opportunities to learn, both inside and outside the classroom, in the wider locality and beyond. Pupils achieve great results, but they also gain magical memories of their years at St. Mary’s and are well-prepared for the challenges to come. One of the many rewarding aspects of my job as headteacher, is when former pupils – now parents of pupils, share their happy memories of their time here.
Our website offers you a flavour of life at St. Mary’s, but we would be very happy to arrange a visit for you to come along and see our school for yourself. I look forward to welcoming you and your family soon.

Wrap Around Care
As a school we offer excellent Wraparound Care, both before and after school. This is supervised by Mrs Parrott who has worked for the school for many years as Wraparound Care Supervisor and Teaching Assistant.
Before school we offer Breakfast Club and Early Drop Off.
Breakfast Club starts at 7.45am. Breakfast includes a choice of toast, cereal and fruit.
Early Drop Off starts at 8.15am.
Places need to be booked at least 48 hours prior to your child's attendance.
The children have the opportunity to play board games, build with Lego and take part in Craft activities.
After School Club offers a childcare solution for those parents who work, or who are not always available to collect at 3.15pm.
During the club the children will play board games, do colouring or do crafts, outside play; there will also be the opportunity for the children to do their homework and have an adult to hear them read.
The times this childcare facility are as follows:
Up to 4.30 p.m. including a fruit snack.
Up to 6.00 p.m. including a piece of fruit and a hot and cold light meal.
The cost of our Wraparound Care is very competitive as this is an in house service.
Places will be limited to 25 pupils per evening and booking and payment will be via Parentpay. Places must be booked by Wednesday of the week prior your child’s attendance.
Covid-19 Amendments
Due to the current Covid-19 situation, we have to restrict numbers at Wraparound Care to 6 children from each school bubble. This is to enable social distancing within the Wraparound Care room. The room is divided into 4 separate spaces, one for each school bubble and each space has their own games, pens and paper. All bags and coats are kept in your child’s designated area.
Due to this restriction in numbers booking is essential to secure a place. Afterschool Club needs to be booked by the Wednesday of the week prior to your child attending and Breakfast Club/Early Drop Off needs to be booked 48hours in advance. If you need to book Wraparound Care at short notice contact the office to see if there is an available space to book your child in.
If your child is unable to attend a booked Breakfast Club/Early Drop Off, for any reason, could you please contact Mrs Parrot as soon as possible on the morning of the booked session.
