Penguins Class

Welcome to Penguins!

Our Class Teachers:  Mr Macfarlane

Our Class TA:  Mrs Murphy

Welcome to the Penguin class! We are a class made up of Year Four and Year Five pupils; our teacher is Mr Macfarlane. We also have Mrs Murphy and on Thursday Mrs Farrel, who help us with our learning and keep us on track!

WHAT WE WILL BE DOING

Being the second oldest in the school, we prepare ourselves for the responsibilities that come with being amongst the older ones. We continue our journey of being role models, setting a good example to everyone in the school. During Mass we look after Year One pupils, guiding them in their journey of faith and how to take part in Mass respectfully. We also build on our ability to lead prayer and liturgy in class, making sure to encourage growth and love for our friends and class in their faith.

The Penguin Class always try their hardest in all subjects. We approach all our learning with a ‘can do’ attitude and with the idea that we just know ‘yet’ learning takes time and with practice we can make progress. We study a range of topics that include Vikings and Anglo Saxons, Ancient Greece, Rivers and our local area of Evesham. Our teacher makes sure that each lesson covers a variety of skills and allows us the opportunity to use our strengths to show our learning.

Even though we work hard we also have lots of fun. To support the curriculum, we enjoy a variety of enrichment opportunities and visits, which can include Bishops Wood, Rivers and, for the Year Fives a two-night stay at Alton Castle. Alton Castle is a fantastic opportunity for pupils to grow in independence, faith and as a young person. The trip is packed full of fun activities; mountain biking, archery, teambuilding, rope climbing, assault course. It also is jam-packed with very engaging and interactive learning about our faith and how we can be closer to God.

What we are looking forward to

We're bubbling with excitement for the year ahead. We're gearing up for more responsibilities and the chance to be leaders and role models. We can’t wait to attend Mass and helping year 1on their faith journey and showing them how to be respectful. Our class is going to be known for our 'can do' attitude, always ready to learn and grow. We'll be diving into our exciting topics, plus, we're in for some fantastic trips like St Bishops Wood and Year Five is super excited for an amazing two-night stay at Alton Castle. This year is going to be full of fun and learning. We can’t wait!
